Summary:

Assisting the food service program by preparing meals in accordance with predetermined menus and recipes, serving them, cleaning and maintaining the kitchen, labeling and preparing food for storage, and operating the cash register.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Use approved school recipes and secure food handling procedures to prepare food in accordance with the planned menus.

Education and Training:

Experience:

Operational proficiency in a mixer, dishwasher, slicer, computer, and adding machine is advantageous at the time of employment; however, it is mandatory within one month of employment. Preference is given to individuals who possess operational expertise and experience with personal computers and peripherals. Operational proficiency and experience with typical office equipment, including telephones, copiers, fax machines, and email, are preferred. 

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:

• A criminal background review is mandatory for employment. 

Supervisory/Technical Responsibility:

• This position does not involve any supervisory duties.

Duty Variety:

Cross-training may be necessary for one or more of the following responsibilities: operating a cash register, maintaining kitchen equipment, and working on a food preparation line.
